I recognised the need for a versatile piece of equipment to transport materials as well as being an easel or somewhere comfortable to sit while working out of doors while running adult courses in the landscape. Finding nothing remotely suitable in the marketplace I set about designing one myself.
I decided at the outset that, considering the English climate, it also needed to be as functional in the studio as out of it. The result is the Artmate. It is ideal for me, and if you like working from observation, should suit you too.
As it would cost a fortune in the shops I assemble the Artmate at home as a sideline. I am retiring shortly, looking forward to making full use of my own Artmate at last, and so am planning to dispose of the remaining stock in the next few months.
